Aalia received a dual Masters in Speech-Language Pathology and Learning Disabilities from Northwestern University of Evanston, Illinois. She is certified in many programs to enhance speech, language, and learning outcomes, including: PROMPT, SCERTS, Hanen It Takes Two to Talk, Hanen More Than Words, LindaMood Bell’s Visualizing and Verbalizing, Orton Gillingham Levels 1,2, 3, Talk Tools Level 1, DIR Floortime, The Lidcombe Program, Makaton, Lois Heymann’s Auditory-Language Processing Approach, and is SCERTS trained.
Her professional career has seen her amass two decades of international experience in the USA, and local UAE experience, in multiple settings and across a variety of age groups and diagnoses, supporting children through Brain Training Programs and therapeutic interventions.
Aalia spent two and a half years of her professional life in the USA at Sweeney Augustin & Associates, Illinois, a clinic specialised in working with children on the autism spectrum. In Dubai, Aalia managed her own successful practice at the Infinity Polyclinic in Dubai for 4 years, after which she joined The Developing Child Center as Director of Therapies and Senior Speech-Language Pathologist, further advancing brain training in Dubai.
Aalia passionately believes in unlocking the potential of every client and watching their confidence soar! She is up-to-date on recent research and intelligence and uses the latest technologies to help develop the most relevant and effective therapies. Aalia is particularly interested in brain research and ways of changing brain patterns to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in helping combat cognitive challenges and to enhance brain power through Brain Training Programs.
